To get involved with anything property related, i.e. Buy-to-let or buying to refurb & sell on?? Homes or offices?

Just wondering how the recent concerns over credit have affected investing in property?

We have quite a few buy to lets ranging from 2 bed flats to four bed executive type detatched. It depends on how you look at it but this is the start of a great period for investments in property. The number of reposessions is climbing every month and you can really negotiate yourself a good deal if you have the right contacts. We deal with several tame estate agents who know what type of property we look for. If you're considering doing the same then get to know your local estate agents and get them working for you.

Property is a long term investment though. In my opinion there's rarely a bad time to invest. We bought a property 3 months before the last "crash" but it still doubled in value in 7 years so would consider that a great investment. I can't see any current downturn being that bad so I for one am still buying if the house and price etc are right.

I'm no property expert but prices seem too high at the moment. There has to be a slowdown/crash soon.

The current subprime crisis and credit crunch provides great opportunities for property investment but you must be very careful.
