What, if any, are the implications of my company using my home telephone line for Laptop access. They wish to issue me with a wireless modem, to download my e mails / info. Am I breaking any BT rules on my private line? Are there any Tax implications?

no if thats all your using it for bt operates a fair usage policy if they find that you are exceeding that then they will contact you and move you on to a more suitable package!
You should be OK. I think you will get problems if you try and run a server farm on it but just for email and web surfing you will be fine.

I would say depending on your business that a VoIP would be the best decision as you can get really good phone service from them as well and sometimes it can be cheaper. It just depends you have to weigh out your options.
