Off shore businesses

Someone told me that I would be able to squirrel away more profits if I registered my business through an offshore location.

It sounds pretty risky to me, but maybe I am just being to timid.

Aren't there huge legal risks associated with doing this?

If it's registered in a foreign location you pay less tax.

I'm not sure if you'll have to have some sort of premises of permanent fixed address over in the foreign country of your choice.
